The 07 Personal number ranges are quite different from 07 mobile numbers because they have been specifically designed to route to another number. They are more commonly known as “follow me” numbers because they allow calls to be routed to most numbers, including mobile and international numbers.
When the 07 number is called, the call is automatically diverted free of charge because the caller pays a higher call charge to fund the cost of the diversion.
Sole traders and small businesses find them an easy and cost effective way to manage their calls. They are also quite useful if for example you are buying or selling a used car and you don’t want to advertise your mobile or landline number.
Ofcom does not allow end user revenue share on 07 numbers.
